Blending Tradition with Innovation

Loy Krathong has always been one of the most magical festivals of the year, and in 2024, we at Ricepad Studios had the pleasure of organizing a special celebration at Lumpini Park Riverside, Rama 3 in Bangkok, Thailand. It was a night filled with lights, music, and a fusion of traditional beauty and modern technology.

We’ve been so busy jumping from one project to the next that we haven’t had the chance to share this sooner—but better late than never! Looking back, this event was one of our favorites. We wanted to create something that stayed true to the essence of Loy Krathong while also bringing in new, interactive experiences. So, we blended activities, projection mapping, and interactive content with the traditional performances, making the evening an immersive experience for everyone who attended.

For us, events like this aren’t just about putting on a show. It’s about creating moments—those little sparks of joy when someone sees a digital lotus bloom across the walkway, or when kids get excited watching the lights dance along with the music. When people have a great time, they remember it, they come back, and they talk about it. That’s what makes it all worthwhile.

Our team enjoyed seeing attendees enjoy the projection mapping, children drawing flowers that was then later uploaded and projected on the building, families enjoying the live performances and celebrating Loy Krathong together.

This is just one of many events we’ve been working on, and there’s plenty more in 2025 (Which we hope to showcase here sooner rather than later).

Do you have an event in mind?

We’re always looking for new ways to bring art, technology, and tradition together to create something truly special. If that sounds like something you'd love to be part of, let’s talk!
